Brunch @ Tutto Caffe Espresso Bar Take Two

Tutto Caffe Espresso Bar
Shop 4, 11 Stewart Road
Ashgrove

The second time I have brunched at Tutto was also superb. These eggs were fantastic:

Brunch @ Home Store + Cafe

Shop 4
20 Stewart Rd
Ashgrove 4060 QLD

The last time I went here it was more store and less cafe, however it's clear that their focus has changed to food! What fabulous food it was.

The fact they were playing Death Cab for Cutie also cheered me.

A good Ashgrove find indeed! (and just across the road from Tutto).

Brunch @ Tutto Caffe Espresso Bar

Tutto Caffe Espresso Bar
Shop 4, 11 Stewart Road
Ashgrove

I’ve been living in the area for years, but didn’t know about this little gem. What a find!

We were suffering after a big Saturday night. I had managed to drag my friends off the couch and we headed off to find an Ashgrove cafe for a big brunch.

There are some interesting items on the menu at Tutto Caffe. The mushrooms with truffle oil caught my eye. These were piled on toast with rocket. Probably one of my favourite breakfasts of all time!

The others fancied a more traditional breaky with eggs, bacon, tomatoes and toast. The eggs looked amazing.

The drinks were pretty good. Two friends had a mango smoothie, and the other soon wished he had as well- his frappe was pretty unappealing. After exchanging the frappe for a smoothie everything was good again!

If you can’t bear the crowds at Paddo cafes, head a suburb over, to Ashgrove and check Tutto Caffe and Espresso Bar out for yourself.

Brunch @ Cafe Arabica

We were in Chinchilla for the iconic Melon Festival. We spent Saturday participating in all the melon-themed activities- melon skiing, melon bungy, melon ironman, and melon pip spitting competitions. I left that day with melon everywhere- in my hair, in my pockets, and between my toes. I was glad to be heading back to the motel for a hot shower!

Brunch was on the cards. After a lie in at our motel, we headed off on a search for a cafe. Shouldn't be hard to find, a cafe on a Sunday. It proved a little more difficult than expected, however eventually we were directed to Cafe Arabica.

The cafe was bustling. We took a seat, and selected our breaky My boyfriend had a basic bacon, eggs and toast, with a smogasboard of sides, in his attempt to create a Chinchilla 'big breakfast'. With all the sides I had to remember to order, it wasn't a surpirse that I forgot one!. He paired this incredible ensemble with a caramel milkshake.

I had egg, toast and tomatoes, and a delicious coffee. I really needed a pick me up- my body was exhausted my feats at the Melon Festival.

We had to keep swatting away the flies, and it was pretty hot, but this was the outback, I reminded myself.

Cafe Arabica didn't have much on it's menu, but it was an absolute find. Who would have thought we'd be brunching in Chinchilla?

Brunch @ The Chelsea

Brunch @ The Chelsea
The Barracks,
2/61 Petrie Terrace

Brunch at The Chelsea was delicious. I've been there a couple of times before, and have never been disappointed. This was probably the most pleasant, perhaps because we arrived earlier than usual and there was no line . I suppose that's the sign of a great find, a cafe with a line snaking out the door, but it always makes me feel like I can't take my time. And that's what makes brunch so special, a lazy period after breakfast and before lunch, brunch can stretch for hours if you have a paper in front of you, and a good coffee or two.

The Chelsea has a distinctively European feel. Perhaps its the waiters, I've never heard an Australian accent at The Chelsea. Part of it has to be the decor, European bistro.

I ordered delicious crepes, with ricotta and pistachio and roasted fig! ($16.50), mum had slow roasted tomato, herbed fetta and basil on panne ($11.50), and dad had eggs on toast ($9) with a side of mushrooms. I've never had mushrooms as good as those at The Chelsea. Mum and I also shared a side of mushrooms with our breaky! The coffee was also superb.

I can't wait to return to the Chelsea to devour some of the other goodies on their breakfast menu, like 'roast carrot hoummus, grilled haloumi, spinach lemon salad, poached eggs and yoghurt'. Of course i'll have mushrooms on the side!
